A Selection from the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection at the art Karlsruhe

8 to 11 March 2012:

The Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection will be guesting at the art Karlsruhe from 8th till 11th March 2012. With this special presentation, the International Fair for Classic Modernism and Contemporary Art will be paying homage to the collector Marli Hoppe-Ritter, whose wide-ranging championship of abstract-geometrical art received its most visible expression in the founding of Museum Ritter in Waldenbuch in 2005.

At art Karlsruhe some 40 works in an area measuring 300 m2 will give a representative impression of the Collection. The paintings, objects, reliefs and works on paper trace out both the beginnings and the development of concrete art right up to the present. Alongside constructivist works by Nicolai Suetin and Henryk Berlewi , the Zurich Concretists will be represented by Max Bill and Verena Loewensberg, and Op Art and Kinetic Art by Victor Vasarely and Günther Uecker. Rita Ernst and Gerold Miller stand for the current approaches to geometric art in the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection.
