Biography Werner Bauer
1934 Born in Völklingen/Saar
1955 – 57 Teacher training college
1958 Oskar Kokoschka’s »School of Seeing«, Summer Academy in Salzburg
1964 Examen as art and handicraft teacher
1964 – 1993 Art master in Dillingen and Lebach/Saar
since 1968 Work in the Concrete realm
1968 – 1980 Works with serial wood elements
1973 – 1985 Works with serial acrylic elements with natural and artificial light and motors
1981 – 1990 Works with silicone as light carrier
1989 – 2008 Works with various plastic foils and since 1997 works with OLF [optical lighting film]
Werner Bauer had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in various important group shows in Germany and abroad. He realized a number of public space projects and received several awards and prizes. The artist lives and works in Saarbrücken.
