One of the ideas of the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection is that the art works belonging to the collection are presented not only in our MUSEUM RITTER but also in other museums.

The photographer, fashion designer, journalist and translator Ré Soupault (1901-1996) made her mark at the heart of the avant-gardes in Weimar, Berlin and Paris. Born Erna Niemeyer in Pomerania, she studied at the Bauhaus under Johannes Itten and Georg Muche, and worked together with the film maker Viking Eggeling. With her two husbands, the film maker Hans Richter and the Surrealist Philippe Soupault, she maintained close links with a large number of the most innovative artists of her day. Kunsthalle Mannheim will present the oeuvre of this many-sided artist in all its facets – against the backdrop of her times.

From 9th October to 28th November 2010 the Kunstverein Pforzheim im Reuchlinhaus will be presenting the exhibition Everyday Life and Ambience – Contemporary Art Reflects on the 1950s

The 1950s were the period of post-war redevelopment and the accompanying economic boom, a dynamic epoch in which every area of society had the chance but also the compulsion to make a new start. The exhibition "Alltag und Ambiente" themes this ambivalent attitude towards life using both contributions from contemporary art and selected examples fromarchitecture and everyday culture. The main focus of the exhibition is on poignant works by contemporary artists that reflect and comment on the particular mood of this decade. The work "Steady as she goes" by Vanessa Henn from the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection is also featured in the exhibition. www.kunstvereinpforzheim.de |
